There is no absolute standard of qualification in adult LLN.
The Victorian Adult Literacy and Basic Education Council believe that to work effectively in adult literacy and numeracy it is advisable to hold a tertiary teaching qualification (e.g. Bachelor, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate of Education) and a qualification in adult literacy and or numeracy (e.g. Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy, Vocational Graduate Certificate in Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice or the Vocational Graduate Diploma in Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice).
Different organisations that deliver literacy and numeracy training have different requirements. Listed below is the range of qualifications existing in Australia. Where known, we also provide information on requirements of organisations.
